    1. In Indian subcontinent there is this awful tradition that the bride’s family has to pay the dowry to the groom’s family. It has resulted in numerous unfortunate events.

      So in this TUS the bride takes a stand to get the groom and his family arrested rather than pay them..

        1. It was meant to be symbolic here also but then people’s greed took better of it. Now here they have come up fixed rates for grooms with a particular profession. The worst thing is that in some cases the groom’s family keep on demanding more and more money. Sometimes they end up killing the bride or throwing out of the house.
          It’s a big issue here even when it is illegal to ask dowry. Thankfully few men are trying to bring in the change.
